Sanije Muca
Memorial Scholarship Fund
Sanije Muca is the late mother of our founder Milot Muca.
Sanije, an ethnic Albanian originating from Diber, North Macedonia, immigrated to the United States with her family and settled in New York City. Sanije loved her family dearly and did everything she could to successfully and lovingly raise her three boys while adjusting to life in the United States.
The Muca family lost their loving mother too soon, as Sanije passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 10, 2021. Sanije, a beautiful soul, was the wife of a loving husband for 32 years, a mother to three boys, and an adoring aunt and sister.
Sanije will forever be remembered for her smile, laughter and resilience. No matter how difficult the situation, she always focused on the positives. Of all the flowers that bloomed in her garden, she loved her roses the most. Aside from her garden, Sanije cherished music as well as the arts and enjoyed anything from talent shows to Albanian folk- lore. She had a tradition of brewing tea multiple times a day, her favorite being Ceylon Black Tea with saffron. She adored traveling, and San Diego, California was one of her most frequented places to visit with her son, Milot.
Throughout her life, Sanije was very giving of her time and aid to those in need. This scholarship was created to honor her life’s work in remembrance of her caring nature.
“Our mom is dearly missed by many. I talk of you often, Mom. I think about you always. I dream of you frequently, wishing you were beside me. I share your jokes and memories with everyone I meet.
I will always be your ‘pasha i mamit’ (loosely translating to “high ranking individual of mom’s”)
I miss you every day and love you very much.”
